I shot me a Hotshot -NOW SOLD-
I finally bought me a Re-re Hotshot. I remember back in the days they were way too expensive for me. A rich kid from school got one of these from his parents as a gift but wasn't even able to assemble it correctly ;-) I entered the hobby class of a RC competition with my Hotshot last weekend and finished 7. ( of 7 competitors LOL) The rear suspension was the main issue I guess and a Carson C4 motor powered by about 2-3 years old NIMH's wasn't the right weapon to fight against Asso B4.1 with 17T brushless motors and Lipos. I have to admit that it was about the funniest day I spent on a race track in the last years. I think I will do some period correct modifications to the suspension and perhaps even replace the chassis tub by a scratch build FRP chassis. Time will tell.

Nice story at least you had a great time racing whatever the result! Super pics too

''Hot Shot on the rocks''. Great buggy!

If 'you' are considering racing, it's probably cheaper to start with a competitive chassis. Modifying an old design, although fun, sets you up for a unique set of issues and always chasing, however, leaving you with a pile of junk in the end. That's a lovely car as it is!

Congrats anyway ...as the Hot Shot was definitely the best looking buggy of the bunch!

you may of came in last but all eyes were on your hotshot on that track i bet!! those B4s were lucky it was not a super shot because they would of been fighting for 2nd place then!! Well......maybe??? (not)!! but who cares the hotshot is a LEGEND and the super shot too and thats in stone now!!!!
Cheers MAD-BEE.

You just need more power Racing on dirt like that, 4wd will let you put more controllable power down than the 2wd drive cars. I've managed to squeeze an eZrun brushless combo (8.5T) into one of my hotshots

@MadInventor: Good idea but the rules only allow Carson C4 brushed or 17,5T brushless motors
