I finally pulled the trigger on this Toyota 40. Been wanting to build a scale crawler, and the CC-01 seems to fit the bill for me. I just started last night, so I will post updates as I go. I tried to take pics of my progress as I finished each page of the instructions. Upgrades include: 540-J motor, Junfac Drive Shaft, Junfac 4-link conversion for rear suspension, Dark Soul Beadlock 1.9 rims, ProLine Chisel tires, ProLine Roof Rack, ProLine Light Bar, Extra Leds for the Light Bar, Hitech HS-485 HB steering servo, Full Ball racing, Lots of GPM upgrades. Note about GPM stuff: I can already see that if you do not have extra bolts, washers, shims, etc, you will be stuck until you find some to complete the install on some of the GPM stuff. They seem to struggle with counting issues. Some of the upgrades either had half of the fasteners needed, or nothing at all. Also, as some of the other members have stated, the steering upgrade will require trimming, and shaving of chassis parts to work properly. Be prepared to spend time with this, or stick with the stock steering assembly. My build will be slow as one of my pet peeves is making sure I trim each and every piece to remove flashing and mold spars. I may be too particular, but I think it's bad workmanship to build a scale car, and not pay attention to this detail. Ok, on to the pics!

Pics of all my stuff to start with Umm..Miller High Life didn't come with kit!

It looks like you're invested in this project in several ways. Kudos on paying attention to the details. If detail is what you want, maybe a hard body too? Nice project - the High Life helps too.

Thanx 3SPD REKR!
Yeah, I spent a few clams for upgrades, but wanted to start on the right foot. I am already finding out that the Junfac 4 link kit is better to install than the GPM kit. I plan to upgrade to a 55T or 60T motor and a 3S ESC down the road. And yes, at time like this the High Life flows freely!!!!
