This started as a project to use up all the spares that were left over from earlier projects but ended up taking a bit longer and needing just a few extra bits.
The shell is a lexan beetle. Its the first time i've used lexan and there were some things i liked about it and others i wasnt so keen on. The paint finish is amazing but its a bit more difficult to work with and you cant make the same modifications to the body. underneath its a standard sand scorcher but with a ball diff and two sets of shocks.
i m yet to take it out for a proper test, but anyway here it is.

hi, I like the 2 sets of shocks idea, just wondering how did you attach them. Looks great!

What a lovely pair! Great looking bugs, but seriously, get it out in the dirt! Nice rims, what kit did they come from?

So cool, wish I had that volume of spares.... a set of 315 tyre's on the front would really look good.. I like the attention to details you've put on the shell and the chassis..

Very cool with an original beetle shell on it, a bit different from the scorcher nose Like your custom touches too!

thanks everyone for the comments. the double shocks are attached using some spare U shaped brackets from a lunchbox. I think they are part of the standard shocks. these were fitted on the front uprights and the rear cage, and the shocks are mounted from these with a longer bolt. I ll post some pictures so its more clear.
the wheels were from an ebay seller in hong kong

Yesterday i've made the same...i have bought a Beetle M04 finished body and i've applied a lot of srb decals on it. Maybe i'll paint red the left front door and the bonnet maybe. And then i'll put on it 4 front fog lights from Tamiya Tundra.
