top chop rat beetle frog :-)
this one is still ongoing....started before Christmas and things sometimes take ages, if you know what i mean ;-) i used a pretty #%&ed-up blitzer beetle shell, removed several layers of paint and started cutting and modelling.... i lovered the roof at the front about 12mm. i wanted to build a rat rod inspired beetle frog. My biggest challenge is to find the right filler that won`t shrink and crack. And my modelling skills have their limitations as you can see. the modification is missing some accuracy but i am not going for a stunning shelfqueen anyway.
The body will sit much lover than shown here. i used my other frog beetle chassis for display.
The rearcage has to be mounted a bit lower as well.
I think i´ll paint body and chassis in some flat middle grey. some of the tamiya military colours i thought and will go for proline waffle pattern tires at the rear and smoothies at the front.
this will be my summer runner. i hope i can find some time to finish it soon..... Any suggestions or comments - don`t hesitate to let me hear your thoughts ;-) thanks!
