Well I have finally finished my full option vintage avante with carbon fiber chassis. This started out as a new built avante that I bought off besty. It came with the optional carbon fiber chasis kit. I then went to work on her. I added the hi-capacity shocks, ball diffs, posi-joints front and rear, Alloy wheels and cam-locs from pargu2000 along with his alloy wing. It has all tamiya electronics. Including CPR 160 ESC and a tamiya 1700 battery. I also added titainium turnbuckles were needed. The pictures do not do the vehicle justus. It is beautiful. I was even lucky enough to find the original tamiya underbelly pan for the extended chassis. It was a real bear to fit the belly pan and include the rear bumper. As it was designed to be mounted without it. All in all I think it turned out well. I still plan to get a 2011 body for it. As the one on it now is an aftermarket body from who knows who :) I hope you all like my newest creation. :)

Nice build!!! The buggy looks great!!! I like the alloy parts they do wonders for the looks. Are you going to do the new body in box art or something different? Killer buggy!!!

The new body will be boxart. Just like this one. And I will use some screen print digital stickers. Thats what I have now and they look great.

That's a nice mixed Avante. Try the Tamiya PS-59 Dark blue metallic paint for the 2011 Body, this will highlight it with the wheels and shock absorbers

What a beauty. Super example! I recently won a badly abused '88 Avante on Aussie Ebay. I'll post in the next few days.

Thanks for the info neobrunox. I used PS-19 on this one. But I'm not happy with the way the aftermarket body fits my tamiya under tray. I got to order me up that new body and decals.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. This will probable be the only buggy I will build from tamiya. I mainly built it to compete with my optima collection. In fact I think I have just about everything I want for my vintage collection. Oh yeah, I still want the 936 porsche and a first gen lambo. Then, Thats all folks!

No, I won't be running this one. Its a shelfer. I got several 1/8th scale brushless buggys that would eat this thing for breakfast and sh#% the rest out by lunch time
