So finally I managed to vac-form an acceptable body with only one error; the plastic made a 'fin' under the front bumper in the left side. This 'fin' appeared in the same spot on the last couple of vac-forms, dunno if I can avoid it. Its the most critical place on the mould since the plastic is stretched the most here and is undercut. Anyway, this last vac-form turned out pretty ok:-) I have trimmed the rear bumper to fit the body and have painted the bumpers chrome. I also added some test-decals to see how it works. -I like it:-) I started to fit the CC01 chassis to the body. Added shorter front shocks to get the nose down. I need to widen the rear wheel tread about 10mm, will probably fix some spacers.
Next up is painting the body colour, its gona be lemon yellow. Pretty close to the original Mopar Curious Yellow I hope:-)
Thanks for watching!

Absolutely blooming marvellous an amazing body you've created. And the fact you did it yourself must feel great. I'm loving the sound of lemon yellow. Well done.

Thanks for the positive comments guys! I'm pretty excited about the project now that I can really see it come to life. As I went along with the project I really learned a lot about modelmaking and vac-forming. This has truly been a great challenge so far.

Also can't wait to see this beast in yellow, is she running the 383ci or the 426 hemi? just pullin your chain it will probably run an electric motor due to the current economic climate
Very impressive work looking forward to seeing the paint.

I am on the ass with the job you have done
Winniez
Thats a one beatiful project! To my eyes higher profile tires would look more authentic though. You should put 750 bruiser motor under the hood to emulate the big block
Capsule
@Winniez, you are right about the tyre profile. I just love the slot mags and had to have them even though they are for low profile tires. I might try something else to get the right look At the moment there's a high rpm pro10 motor from the early 90íes in the car. Good for the CC01 gearbox which has been converted to RWD by the way!
Winniez
I agree, the wheels are fantastic. One trick to cheat the profile would be some phony side strip which would look like rubber, that could spoil the wheels though. You could also try wheels painted in aluminium, it could be even more scale looking than the chrome. With such a beautiful body its easy to try different wheel/tire options! Motor and gearbox combo sounds tail happy which ofcourse is a great thing considering the 1:1 model
Fernado Alonso
Wow that thing looks WOW
So I sure like a lot
Cheers,Alex
