Bolink Digger 10
Original Bolink Digger 10, recently imported from the States. This is THE car that started it all off for the Schumacher CAT off-road campaign. It is what Schumacher imported / distributed in the very early 1980's until they decided they could do a better job themselves. Along came the the CAT, so very right they were! Really fast and light so good for a comparitively smooth grass off-road race track, but definitely not so good for larger modern day track jumps! (see the suspension!). A very rare and very collectable (particulalrly in the States) piece of rc car racing history. It has taken quite some time for me to get my hands on this. All I need now is the time to rejuvenate it back to its former racing glory! Check out the Model Car magazine from 1982 below, nice hair cut Robin Schumacher!

I remember these very well. I did battle against these on the track many times with my Grasshopper and Hornet....

Wow - I didn't even know these existed. Thanks for the history lesson I prefer it with the vac moulded Rough Rider body show in the Model car article though

This is awesome! I always wondered how well these cars handled off road without any proper suspension to speak of? Thank you for posting up the Model Cars Magazing article on the race meeting at the Worlds End pub.... I was only there having a meal last week & although I knew that early RC racing took place there I couldn't work out where the track would have been laid out.... now I can see - very interesting stuff!

Hi Dan, the new extension to the Worlds End and the re-landscaping has changed the garden area, so not so obvious where the track used to be.
I used to race there around 1980-1985 with my old Holiday Buggy, and then moving on with a Subaru Brat and Frog etc.

My earliest awareness that people raced R/C cars 'seriously' was during a visit to Liford park which would have been around the same time as the World's End club was operating? - I started racing in the late 80s (88-89ish) at the little club in Irchester - I guess racing at The Worlds End had ceased by then? Either way it seems it could be said that the Worlds End was one of the pioneering clubs of 1-10th electric buggy racing here in the UK?

Hey Simon, that's a real cracker!
I'd love to get one of those in my collection one day, but you hardly ever see them for sale
Iconic indeed
