MTV Astute
Another evilbay buy, but this one didn't need much as came fitted with a hot motor (too hot!!) and period Futaba ESC and radio gear.
As always the weak points were there, the rear hubs were a bodged fix, and the front captive nuts came loose. Did the Madcap rear wishbone/hubs mods , which were both cheap, easy and a very practical solution.
Not exactly box-art but the MTV decals and colour scheme are very 80s. Original wheels are in the spares box (tyres perished) and I replaced them with some 2.2 REELY black disc wheels and multi-spike tyres, cheap as chips from conrad.com
Love running this one when i get chance.

Mate the Mtv decal makes this look so period correct it's not funny. The green to black fade and Durga wing really suits this little beauty. I hope you are giving her an occasional blast. It's a rippa.

Those black 2.2 wheels suit it well, maybe a set of black shocks would finish it off?

Update 7/9/12 - i have some re-re Hi-cap dampers on the way, this chassis is so deserving of them

Many thanks - they were pretty cheap, but the quality is quite good for the money. Reminds me I must sort out a proper wing mount - the bent nails have been there far too long
