Ever since playing Sega Rally Arcade, on my seaside holidays as a kid, I always loved the Lancia Delta. So when I found out that Tamiya had made this, I knew I had to get one. Trouble was, they ain't cheap. Fortunately, I was able to buy this one for a good price on-line recently. It was all abit dirty and covered in mud, but it was ready to run. After striping it down and cleaning it up a bit, I added full ball bearings and switched the plastic main shaft for a blue aluminium one (as the plastic one had warped). I switched out the old silver can for a clash 21 (I have also tried a clash 15, but it doesn't seem to have much grunt). As I primarily want to get this sideways on flat tarmac/concrete, the 21 is better. (Might get/try a Etronix 17t tuned motor though, anyone know what these are like??). Shell is split, but it has come with the driver section (a nice surprise!)..now means I have to buy the paints for this though. There is a nice smooth area of concrete in the centre of Bristol called Millenium Square, where I usually take some cars to drift out on. Hope to try this out here soon.
