Hi All, as promised from last post the build pictures for the Mk2 SS (Monster Energy) and the Mk1 SS.
Both SRB chassis where stripped and fully cleaned, the Mk1 body was cleaned and the paint stripped using the (De-Solv-It) remover, this worked very well :-)
The Mk2 is a re-re body but needed some work also, like filling and sanding the mold joints and messy edges then covered in x3 white primmer.
The Mk1 is still to be painted, but all is original except the wheels/tyres, even the front bumper still has the huge crack in it from its running years.

Hope you enjoy the pics and comments welcome as always :-)
P.s. the eagle eyed among you will notice on both chassis the front and rear dampers are the wrong way around, this did give both the HOT-ROD look but have since been changed as the manual.

Together Mk1 before the work Mk2 filling and sanding Cleaned and ready for the re-build De-Solv-It Under-coat Rear/s of the year Mk2 chassis Mk2 & Mk1 chassis (Mk2 on the left) Paint time

lots of work been done here buddy and looking good . Have a monster beetle shell to strip and so does the de-solv-it work that well ? very impressed. Do you need to submerge the shell or do you just paint it on ?

All, thanks for comments, JW it is very good but depending on how many layers of paint will determin how many times you will need to repeat. At moment the original body has still not been touched since the paint strip.
It may well go Blue/White box-art for the simple reason is that i have wanted one ever since i first seen it on the shelf all them years ago and seeing as the other body is now Green/White/Gun-metel then box-art will be the right choice for the vintage model

Looking good! Technically they'd be called an original scorcher and a rere. A mk1 scorcher is generally the early original release that had the screws in the front uprights and double bearings in the rear. The later original ss is known as the mk2. The 2011 release is just called the rere ss..
