Started the building of a new 935. I'm a week into the project. Very patient with this as I am layering my coats of paint with wet sanding. I'm having to wait on some Tamiya racing white and matt black lacquer as it is popular and nobody ever seems to have it in stock so I have several cans back ordered. Sort of on hold with the body until then. The tail has to be assembled and puttied, sanded. In the mean time I will strip down the chassis which is unused but needs a good cleaning and polishing. I assembled all the parts for this over the spring/summer and biting at the bit to keep moving with it. Have plenty of back up parts, I will be using the mesh kit from a static kit as well as other small detail parts not included with the RC version. Love this model and can't wait to see it finished.

This car is a fantastic piece of tamiya history. I would not part with mine for anything. I think its gonna be a beautiful machine. Make sure you use that micro-sol when you put on the decals. It makes the decals hug the body just like they were painted on. I can't wait to see her finished. But don't rush.

That looks great, I would send you some paint if they let me as my hobby shop might have some. I was told by them that the paint is getting help up here in the states like it was held up in the UK last year or so for EPA reasons or the like...GREAT. I wish I could store my stuff outside in the workroom, but it would melt...literally. That is one GIANT roll of servo tape you have there.

Thanks Skottoman..and Dan...I hope to do a good job of it...I really enjoy the heck out of working on these vintage cars...really special.
Tyboart
Yeah Crash..it is a big roll of servo tape indeed..that and just about anything else you can think of. I use the crap out of that stuff. @Slimmy..Yes I am planning on this being my display piece. I still have one that will stay NIB..but with the NIB kits, they can always be sold without notice..lol..that is the nature of NIB kits.

Beauty mate.. Got one lined up myself. I am putting it of at the moment.... Good luck!

A truly wonderful car and one of Tamiya's best models. Enjoy! Given your high level of attention to detail and your patience, maybe you should consider getting an airbrush instead of using the spray cans. Once you use one you will never go back. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Oh I sympathise with this build as did one myself. Very, very tricky to get right.
Tyboart
njmlondon...Thank you!..I do have an airbrush that I use for smaller detail..I'm just not comfortable covering large areas. I did my tank with an airbrush but it was a lot more forgiving than my 935!
