**PLEASE READ THIS** for anyone looking at this model displayed in my showroom and wondering if I will sell it? PLEASE DON’T ASK!!! I get numerous requests from TC members wanting to buy cars displayed in my Tamiyaclub showroom, and to be honest I get very annoyed when people ask to buy something that is clearly NOT FOR SALE!! This car is part of MY COLLECTION and as such I want to KEEP IT!! So please don’t Email on the off chance that I might sell it to you, if I want to sell any of my cars I will put them up for sale in my TRADE ROOM, so look there to see what cars I am prepared to sell otherwise don’t bother asking cos the only answer you will get is NO!!! thanks for reading this disclaimer. Regards wldnas.

I've decided to reclassify this showroom entry and set it into the Event/Action Photos section cos its much more better suited for this section : )

You’ve seen it as a kit, you’ve seen it being built... Now you see it on its first drive down the local park... First impressions? Well it aint very quick that’s for sure :S but then it doesn’t need to be, the motors are geared right down to give it the grunt to climb over practically anything.

When you accelerate the body twists to the right with the sheer torque of the drive train, the suspension is pretty supple and the anti-roll bars can't quite cope with the power twist given off by the transmission.

The steering lock isn’t upto much, if you want this monster to turn get the 4WS set up cos with front only steering its got one heck of a gape, stunts are quite easily achieved, by running it full reverse then slamming it into full forward on dry grass, it rears up on its hiney with no problem what so ever, and the same can be said going on the other direction, it will stand on its nose ;) but it will only do these tricks on grippy ground.

Climbing is the TXT forte, it will clamber over most obstacles with relative ease and the super articulate suspension always keeps the truck sure-footed... until you try to push it beyond its limits, like on a really big kerbstone... :S it was at this point that the rear UJ decided to pop out (cos I hadn't tightened it up enough I guess) so it was back to base, with a smile on my face :)

UPDATE: I'm planning a number of modifications to my TXT which I'm hoping to complete before the Spring drive at Snetterton, I’m hoping to fit high performance batteries and motors to improve its performance and I intend to test it at the Avon Dasset Hills when these modifications are complete... Watch this space!!

FURTHER UPDATE: OK this is a bit late cos the work was done years ago, but I managed to get a pair of Reedy BADD MAXX 19t Double Monster truck type motors to fit to it, these have increased the speed a bit but the grunt they produce is phenomenal, I’ve slightly modified the battery tray so that it can accept twin 8.4V batteries, I have modified another standard Tamiya Manual 3 step speedo with twin motor wires, twin battery connectors and twin resistor sets, the final mod on the chassis was to turn the suspension cantilevers back to front, this has the effect of stiffening the suspension quite considerably thus eliminating the torque twist but you do lose a little bit of ride height and articulation as a result, on the body side I fitted a modified Fashion Doll vehicle body for use on the chassis, it was the Barbie VW Microbus but now I’ve turned it unto the VW MONSTERBUS, after the work I was to scared to run it with the posh new body at Snetterton instead I used it with the normal TXT body on, I have not used the TXT much since that day?

Finally finished with the stickers now applied. Yeeeeee-Haaa! My TXT can stand on its nose, does yours? This is what the TXT does best drivin' over stuff. A curb too far, at this point the prop fell off :( How it looks after modification VW Monster bus.
