Buggy Champ Gold - San Miguel Racing Team
I bought this Gold Edition from Tower when they were on a particularly bonusoidal deal in early summer. I technically couldn't afford it, so I promised myself it wouldn't be built until I'd sold enough stuff to pay for it. It remained in my lobby for months, but finally got dragged up to Bag of Badger's place a few weeks back for a weekend of SRB building.
Shell is gold with a white roof, traditional San Miguel colours, so I decided some San Miguel sponsor logos would look good. Then I went the whole hog and had a load of sponsor decals made up by those fine people at Screen Print Digital.
The number 15 refers to my club membership number where I race 1:10 touring. SCRAPSpeed is a ficticious tuning company that I run with a friend of mine, Foxhole Music is (was) the website where I publish my electronic music (currently offline with some DB problems) and Istanza Publishing is the outlet for my creative writing.
The driver was painted by Bag of Badgers' good lady. I'd already primed the driver body in grey automotive primer, so we test-painted a section in Tamiya translucent orange, and it came out a lovely deep brown colour like an old leather race suit. I think it looks great!
I absolutely love this car. I'm terrified to drive it because it looks so good, but I bought it to run, so maybe I'll buy a spare shell for running.
It's stock throughout apart from an old Sport Tuned motor, which should be about right for performance.

Already ran it at the 2012 TC meet. I managed to get 30 minutes running in without a single roll, then just as I was driving back to the pits I managed to fire it upside down, lose the spotlamps and scrape the gold paint. Still, they weren't made to look at - they were made to play with!
