Fire Dragon, in need of Rehab!!
Just this week i bought a Fire Dragon, and it arrived in the post today. I had one of these years ago, possibly circa 1991 - bought in a clearance sale from our beloved Modelsport in Otley... that car is somewhere else now, and I kinda missed its ugly presence.
I really did want to buy a BNIB RERE, but they came and went before i was in a position to justify spending that many $$... such a shame
anyways this came up on ebay, so i bid for it and got it for £31 plus £10 postage. Happy to be reunited with a fun buggy again!
needs major work and a few parts, going to strip it and rebuild it over christmas methinks. at the moment I have no idea if it has bearings or bushes, and as the motor is hanging off of it i am not even sure if the gears have teeth! LOL
Front suspension mount is shot with the suspension arms hanging off, although I have the dogbone that was loose in the box, no rear bumper roll bars ether, but at least the anto roll bar is there.
anyway for now its going back in the box, as its a birthday present from the wife to me [she has seen me mooning over Fire Dragons for over 5 years and finally gave in to get me one of my own!]
Sorry for the poor quality photos, I only got a few minutes with it to give it the once over before it went off to be hidden by the wife until my birthday arrives.
Enjoy, and I will post the strip down and rebuild as it goes along in January.
Can't wait!!!

Great! Should be a good project. You are lucky, my lady gets the 'gifts' sent straight to her and puts them away until the day, I usually only have the photo of the advert!

Don't put a thundershot body on it, it should stay as a firedragon

oooh Wez-li... killjoy!!! LOL
This Dragon will look really good with a Thundershot body on it!! I also plan to get hold of Terra Scorcher parts, adjustable upper arm set and rear anti roll bars...
Its very much a donor car, kinda picking up where I would have with my own one from years ago.
I guess its each to his own?
