I've had this one since the early 90's and use to race it locally, I don't have much time for that anymore so I thought it deserved a restoration (non-boxart) before its retirement to the shelf.
Enjoy, and all comments are appreciated.
Okay that is one SWEEEEEEEET Wild One. I think it might be cold as a photo or two got out of focus slightly, but that is very cool. I think all it is begging for is some Bilstein decals for those shocks.
That looks awesome! will be a great shelf queen!
This is sick man!!!!
This is the best Wild One i have seen in some time! Awesome bud!
A real Classic!
I like that, a lot!!!! I do prefer the non boxart WO's hopefully oneday I'll have one as nice as this.
28 degrees and overcast Chris, I will replace some of these photos with better ones when I see the sun again. Great comments guys, thanks.
WOW Dave....Looks FANTASTIC !!!!
Nice work Dave. Like the original livery. Let me know when you wanna get out and run it.
That looks very nice, well done!
Lovely restoration and the wheels set it off nicely.
Different. But NICE
I almost forgot to warn you I was going to be in your neck of the woods in just about a week now, how is the snow forecast and what do I bring to run???
Well done blackfoot dave! I like the none boxart options and those wheels are very complimentary.
'holy smacking duck*****' , What a Fantastic looking wild one .
Don't retire it! Race it!!
Action shots please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wowwwwwww! Great one!
Excellent David! I am happy to see your WW in such a shape!! Very well done! Cheers, Martin.
Nice period livery
Very bling and shinny, great work, nice and differant look at a vintage classic.
Loving the Valvoline livery!
Added to favorites as inspiration for my own restoration that I hopevto embark on soon.
Thanks again to everyone for the great comments. I am glad to have inspired some as I have been inspired by quite a few TC members along the way. Even though this buggy has a different look from when I was racing it, I will always look at it on my shelf and have many fond memories of the fun I've had with it.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season!!
Bloomin eck Dave that's a bit gorgeous that is !!!
Thats a beautiful wild one. I love it. Well done restoration. Wow! Those wheels are hot!
Quick question, is the cage painted? If so, just primed and sprayed. Curious as I want to change mine also
@mtbkym01, yes the cage is primed and sprayed with chrome spray although it ended up looking an aluminum color in the end. The cage and chassis tub are re-re FAV everything else (except whls/tires) are original parts. If anyone is interested in seeing what my original WO looked like check out Assi74's Wild One in his showroom, he got all my spares from this build to make his WO.
Silver cage, yellow shocks - awesome mate
Such a good combination and restoration love how it's turned out
