Wow, it's been a really long time since I posted anything on here. We've had a rough few months with 2 sudden bereavements within the immediate family so my mind hasn't really been in the right place to do any vintage tamiya restorations. But instead I've found a sudden urge to do something very current and up to date. I'd been watching the recent 1/10th offroad worlds in Finland online and wondered what it would be like to have a car and equipment just like the worlds top drivers so here it is. I've always been a Kyosho fan so I chose the ZX-5 FS2. I was going to buy a new kit but this one came up cheap second hand. It was originally an SP kit which had the motor mounted at the rear but it came with a new and unused FS conversion kit. I immediately fitted the kit and proceeded buying all the necessary parts to convert it to FS2 spec. Since then the FS2 SP kit has been released so a number of the lastest parts are on here too. I know that it would have been cheaper to buy a new kit but it's more fun this way ;) I've painted it in my old colour scheme that I first used back in the late 80's on my LWB Optima Mid. I'm also a keen Team Orion fan so the choice for electrics was obvious - vortex pro speedo, vortex 6.5T brushless motor, vortex servo and 5500Mah 90c LiPo cells. Needless to say this thing is fast and puts a smile on my face everytime I mash the throttle :)
