Three decades after first wanting one, it's coming together
Recent purchase to satisfy a 30 year old craving for a vintage SS from my school days. Boy, is there a lot to be done! I am going to try to keep this updated as I go. Build thread can be found at: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64964&hl=

Nice! I want one of these too. Are those last two photos of new replacement parts or are you some kind of cleaning wizard! What is the liquid that you're soaking the wheels with? Cool project, good luck!

looks like your going to have fun with that, good luck with the rebuild

@Odyss - The first pictures are of the state it was in when I received it. The rest are of it as it's being refurbished. The liquid is brake fluid; you can check out my build thread in the forum for all the details...

Looking good so far!!

Nice work on the chassis, like to see the new paint on the shell!

@def4x4 - To be honest, the painting part is the bit that scares me most! I will just have to make sure that I use a paint that dissolves in caustic soda - then I can start again

Nothing beats the orig. SS body! BTW, I think I have a question for you. I have some old front tires for these cars that have flat spots. Do you know a way to fix them. Like some sort of ''treatment''?

@mongoose1983 I used Einszett Gummi Pflege, but more for the looks than to repair damage - I also padded the rears with foam
