This restoration was a little more special to me, then others. I had started this in April 2011 and finished it up in late Oct. This one has taken me quite a bit longer than others, as it was the first resto after my daughter was born. She has been keeping my wife and I very busy. But it has been great! At 8 months old, she has already taken a liking to the world of r/c, from cars to helis - it always seems to peak her interest when we take something out to drive or fly. She does seem to like the controller a little more than the actual model, though....i need to keep these old 3-speeds locked up now...;) Over the past months, whenever I had a free minute here and there - I would sneak into the garage to work on it. This thing had a lot of heavy paint on it that took a while to strip and some small cracks. Nothing that some elbo grease and epoxy couldnt handle though. The trans got the standard rebuild and I polished the frame and axles also. The main wing required some serious work as well...some plasticard, epoxy and squadron green - it was good to go. I also have to thank Jims Hobby Shop (jsourbeck) for the quality repro driver, column and tail lights. It has taken many nights half asleep and all, but i finally got it done! Needless to say, my recent NIB acquisition explains my temporary disappearance from TC ;). I've got plenty of other projects to share with the club though, they'll just be a little slower to get done these days. ;) I hope the pics entertain and as always thanks for stopping by! -Brian

Thank you for the very nice comments guys!! @ SRB - Yes, this one will need to go on a high shelf. @ RACECRAFTERS - I absolutly agree! I feel a new value to life already only 8months into being a dad! @ Seth - I hope no one ever tries to undo the work that you have done to your models!! They are extreme works of art that have a unique personality of their own!

beautiful job, I know the feeling of having kids getting your full attention and having to work on RC half asleep into the night!

Thanks Steve! Yeah, it's either pure passion or pure insanity to tinker with screwdrivers and razor blades half asleep, after a day of tending to the baby...wouldn't trade it for the world tho!
