New Built Re-Release Sand Scorcher (NOW SOLD TO BIFFO)
I have been after a re-release Scorcher for ages and every week I pop into my local Model Zone shop. They had the kit on the shelf which I have been mulling over for ages, whether to buy it or not, although was dreading painting the shell in the factory livery as always rush the paint or get the dreaded runs.
Over Xmas the shop sold the kit. Out of the blue this gem came up on the bay with the guy just down the road from where I worked, wanting cash ASAP. The guy held onto the model until the Monday and I had to have it. His ebay pics looked factory, which turned out he runs his own photographic business. Also this was the kit that was in Model Zone that he bought over Xmas.
Last picture is one he did at his studio.

Thats cheating, skipping out on the painting. Buts its exactly what I'd do...

I HATE painting. Would definately have done the same if I got the oppurtunity. Looks great!

That is a great story, and looks really great, but there is something funky about the front turn indicator lights. The appear to be glued to the front, instead of inserted from behind the lens holders?

Great story and nice pictures! I'm doing the same thing with this kit -- going back and forth on whether or not to buy one.

Very nice find and it looks like he did a great job with it. I actually bought two of these and love them both but that boxart paint is tedious and takes hours to mask

Nice story. The last picture looks so good.

Thanks for the comments. I believe he has stuck them on the outside lol. The blue outlining on the roof and kidney shape bonnet area must be a nightmare to mask and paint without any screw ups. Got 2 more re-release shells to paint, which I think I am going safe and just doing in 1 colour lol
