My old Brat is gone... I'm keeping this one.
Well, with some very little pain in my chest I had to let go my black Subaru Brat a couple of days ago. About $100 was the price. Had too many things in my head, the girlfriend and some projects, so my bank account needed some help. I guess you all know how it is. Oh, well.
But anyway, back to the truck. I decided to delete the black Brat from my showroom to show my red one instead. It is not completely vintage anymore, as it has some re-re parts in it, too. I'm in hopes to get it running sometime next March ;)

have to disagree with the comment on the 2nd pic. the ranger XLT on SRB chassis was the first

@PaKoo: Hi Patrick! YES, you sure are right. Have to correct that (you know I never had the Ford pick-up)
PaKoo
to bad, you should get one, real fun to drive these old cars as they just won't do what you want them to do.

Hey Erich mate, sorry to hear you had to sell ol' blackie! I feel your pain, I've sold about 10 of my RC's. Big Red looks smart! re-re parts keep us running. Cant wait to see a video one day!
Fernado Alonso

You can't beat the Brat in red!!!
Nice looking brat and great to see all the old electrics in it!
Got to love the brat its a classic!
Sorry you had to let the black one go!

@Pakoo: Well, who wouldn't love to have a Ford Ranger? If I ever come across a cheap project, I might get one of those!
@berman: Hiya Neil! Which ones you had to let go? Don't tell me your Clod or BullHead? Would be such a shame to hear that!
@Fernado Alonso: Thanks, Alex. Do you know last week our buddy Richard beat me at the local bowling? I was so frustrated!
@MAD-BEE: Hi mate! I knew someone was going to like the sight of the vintage radio gear. I know I do. So far the last bit missing is the control rod for the MSC. I already have a switch (BIG thanks to Crash Cramer!).

Nice looking brat! Sorry you had to let the black one go.

Very nice Subaru Brat Erich. Looks very close to the original release with the 380 motor, servo saver, rear shocks, electronics. Is it POSI rear? I really like the POSI over the differential. Also, wouldn't the antenna wire being wound like that cause interference? Great work like always
mongoose1983
@Old School Sang: Tell you what, my friend. The chassis that you see in these pictures is actually the 'extra' one you gave me, a few years ago. Nope, I installed a Frog differential on this one. Now the antenna wire... I think there is a suggestion about that in the manual. Am I wrong?
Perhaps you might want to have a look at this other TC entry, when I mentioned you as a Canadian collector LONG before you joined the club: [Click here]

No not those two, they would be the last to go! I love the period gear in there, fellow Futaba Junkie
mongoose1983
@berman: Phew, for a minute I thought the Monster trucks were gone! You know, from all the cars I have I think I'd have to mention the Clod Buster as the most exciting thing ever. Oh, and YEAH, I'm definitely a Futaba junkie! Ha ha

At least you still have this, I like the decals in the rear window, black is gone but not forgotten
mongoose1983
@skywhelp: Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I'm smiling at this very moment. I just happened to get a chassis from a local guy for less than $20. And it has some extra things that would sure get anybody smiling! Will post pictures of the new project sometime later.

Great looking Brat! I know the feeling much too well Erich However, you still have the red one! Hope to see some action pics soon!

Thanks for the kind words, Brian. I believe I'll be able to make another 'blackie' before next September!
