Chevy S-10 Monster ruck
Hiya,
This is the result of a crash...
I had a Twin Detonator truck runner which had a broken front gearbox, it was left broken for a long time.
Then I remembered it and thought I should get it going again but for the smalest amount of cash possible, so I found on ebay the front D parts (6 Pounds) from the rear wheel drive only chassis and it was back in working order.
Then I needed a shell, and I had that old S-10 left and as usual with Tamiya most things are compatible and it did fit with TL01 body posts straight away.
I'm pleased with the result, simple, good looking Monster Truck. I'm sure it would sell nicely if big T was to make it, especially with that lovely shell.
Fitted with an Ansmann Clash 21 Turns and a TEU-104BK that thing is fast. The options I have on it are: full BB's, oil CVA's and universal shafts from the Top Force. The diff was filled with some 'bad Horsie' grease to get a limited slip diff setup. Also I added a modified Monster Beetle/Pumpkin bumper.

very nice, the shell isn't probably as durable as the original dual hunter shell. that one looks ugly but its really thick.
how did you add modify the bumper ? i might do that to mine .

Hi, I have added a picture of the bumper mod. Cheer.s

Nice looking machine, I agree if Tamiya used their licensed shells on these trucks like this they would sell better than the ugly fantasy truck shells they have on several models

Nice mashup of parts and ideas!

This lovely parts mash up makes me regret selling my twin det. Seemed too expensive to get it running with some speed with the dual motors and all. Nice work!
