Last year I put this car aside for the TRF201 - I had too many problems with this car (both durability and handling), and I wanted to make a fresh start and start track driving. It was resigned without a clean or rebuild, put away in a box in the corner of the attic. I considered selling it, but my heart felt that this car still had a purpose to fulfill.
Today those thoughts were confirmed: Here it was, the car proudly standing on the tarmac, ready for it's destiny: To be a speeding bullet with a screaming motor!
Recently I developed improved rear suspension blocks for the Dyna Storm. Three prototype sets have been printed: Two sets were sent to test drivers (members Shanks in GB and Wildwillydriver in Italy), the third set would be a set for my Dyna. To get it up and running I completely stripped and cleaned the car (like I should have last year), put the prototype blocks on, put TRF dampers on, cleaned and retouched the body and put better electronics in it than the last time I drove it. The result is astounding to me: It looks new and fresh again, and the handling is uncomparable to what I drove last year! The setup needs tweaking and I think the Dyna would still benefit from stabilizers onroad, but the heavier battery in the front helps heaps for the balance, the TRF dampers soak up the small bumps like dampers should, thanks to that I don't have to run the car at 10mm ground clearance anymore to prevent it from flipping over and last but not least, the blocks held up very well to the drive! No loosening screws like the stock blocks, no breakage or damage, no strange or twitchy handling behaviour that I can point down to the blocks... This Dyna finally feels like the car it should have been all along!
A familiar sight...
...Yet a different feeling.
A lower front end with TRF dampers.
More sponsors, logos and details on the shell.
Higher ground clearance than the old tarmac setup.
But one thing has remained...
...She's still a beauty from all angles!
The battery is too high for the battery strap eh?
Glimps of the block just before it's first run...
...More fun and updates ahead!

Don't use it on the tarmac. This is a off road queen!

I don't have a track nearby, or a decent bashing spot that's clay, sand, astroturf or whatever... Hence why the first test was on tarmac and the car has run on tarmac a lot in the past
I do agree though, this car does belong in the dirt, not on a surface like this...
