This project started quite a while back when i had purchased a rather rough but complete hotshot from the bay. On changing my mind about running it i decided to invest in some new parts to restore it to queen status. Well we have all been there - new vintage chassis, vintage roll-cage (minus the extra bracing!!) then vinatge d parts and basically all i have left of the original purchased car on this beauty is the drive shafts and the original front arms that came with the initial purchase (super shot type with the extra triangular piece on the lower set) anyway guys here she is with brand new vintage shell and genuine decals and the only re-re parts are the wheels and tyres (bumper was brand new and assumed it a re-re but no recycling emblem so not sure???) . This is never going to run although fully ball raced and sporting brand new heat sinks and MSC and full r/c gear fitted she could but on the shelf she will stay.... not sure if that technipower will stay fitted though will see. Anyway hope you like it guys and promise the spots will get painted and decals fitted soon lol. Ps pictured supershot is also a vintage resto so update on that asap, regards justin

was to be outside pictures but rained (again!!!) those gold wheels make a big difference new chassis,techni-power and re-re bumper?? have better shafts in my runner so swapping over two legends, supershot almost finished update soon

Hi mccoy and cant agree with you more - thing is think i have enough of them now now lol... three hotshot 1's (one of which a re-re) two supershots - one a re-re and a hotshot 2. Thing is they are so good to look at so temptation to buy another is always there .

Very nice and the gold wheels are a must

thanks for that Jw, the gold wheels really set the character of the car and for how cheap the re-re ones are it's one compromise on using re-re parts worth doing. Glad you like it john , many thanks regards justin

Nice Hotshot. However the car seems to have the re-release lower front arms fitted rather than the rare original 4-triangle ones you describe in your text?

Hi wandy, thanks for the compliment on the car - i can say though with certainty they are the original 4 triangle arms, if you look on picture 3 and enlarge it you can see triangles on both upper and lower arms. Thanks buddy

Hmm. Are we definitely talking about the front arms and not the rears?...as on picture 3 I see 3 triangles and the single hole as featured on the Supershot. Not that it's a big deal anyway as there is no conclusive evidence that all original Hotshots came exclusively with the 4 triangle front arms.

@rosey/wandy - now i'm confused lol. The arms are what came with the original car and im no means an expert on these things but they are the earlier issue which came with the extra triangular brace on the bottom sets,- guess these were pretty standard on the earlier issue cars and looking through my supershot manual it does indeed state to cut these away. Sorry for the confusion guys and thats my one idiot moment for this week lol.

@ mad-bee, cheers mate and hope to run my supershot re-re sometime soon along with the hotshot runner. Just running out of room now to house them all so may start selling one or two duplicates off soon as like you time is too stretched to use them. As for a hotshot buddy flaws apart gorgeous cars to admire and think this could appear in your showroom sometime soon lol.

Did you say the word sell!! Do you have a Hotshot for sale??
any will do!

Mate i would not worry about the arms its getting very mixed up these days and more and more originals will pop up with re-re parts on them! and it can be hard to tell between them! Its nice to have a 100% original but i dont care as long as 70% of the car is still original thats cool!!

or get back on the bay and look out for some original arms as now it will bug you like it would me!!

Nice one (Wandy) & (Rosey) i hope you guys are happy now! because poor hot rod will not sleep tonight now thinking about those arms! it will drive him mad!!LOL

Sleep well pal!!

Yeah mate, this car definitely has the later front & rear arms that were a standard feature on the Supershot & Hotshot 2. I wouldn't fret too much though since, as I said earlier, nobody is ever going to prove one way or another whether late production 58047 Hotshot kits were actually supplied with the later specification arms.

Cheers wandy, i guess the only plus is that either way they are later issue originals if that makes sense ? at least the rest of the car is original right down to a brand new vintage prop shaft and propeller shafts ...would be nice to have it 100% but im happy . @ mad-bee not as of yet but will be doing a to stay and to go list very soon so will let you know buddy and yes that whole arm thing is very confusing and what ever is now on the car will stay on it . Cheers regards hot rod

Yeah, the front arms are definitely original Supershot items as they have the exterior triangle still attached (the manual actually instructed the builder to remove them) so at least you know they are vintage. The rears could be 2007 re-release items but my hunch says they will probably be Supershot/Hotshot 2 and date back to the 1980s too, even though the 2007s were identical in every way.

Thanks for that wandy has given me more info than i otherwise would have had so appreciate it , @rosey no worries mate and not pedantic at all.... really appreciate any info i get as to be honest it's all still a learning curve for me and helps me to look out for variations in the future. Have not looked at your showroom article yet but will do now buddy. Thanks guys

cheers matman , is a beauty and contemplating doing the tyre lettering? think my shot collection is complete apart from a HS2 runner maybe later on. Think the gold rims do set it off and make it proper boxart ... cheers my friend, regards hot rod
