The Monster Beetle was one of my childhood favourites, really wanted one but never got one until three years ago when I got back into the hobby infact it was the third model I bought. It's made a great runner but not really shelf worthy so I was really fancying a project that I could restore or a really nice one. When my mate Andy (stickerbod) hinted that he may well sell the example you see here I jumped at the chance. Andy has done a wonderful job restoring it, so much so it could almost pass for a new one. The pictures I've taken don't really do it justice. All I've had to do to it is dust it and spray sillicone on the tyres to give them a deep shine and now it sits on the shelf with my nicest models. Thanks again to Andy for the great deal. Hope you all enjoy the pictures.

Its looking stunning mate, glad you got it. Now all you need is a nice Blackfoot to go with it

Wow, great looking example! I never liked these as a kid but as an adult I've become increasingly more fond of them...something about the combination of those gold rims, red body and yellow shocks draws me in. I just added a re-re LB to my collection so I'm going to resist the urge to get one of these....for now.

Lovely! ... I have a secret agreement with myself not to collect the 'monster' series of cars because they take up so much space ... but I'm weakening! ... ...

Love love love the Monster Beetle and IMO it just has to be box art red. I've seen yours in person. It's a peach.

I you haven't got one of these yet and are thinking about it then get one! These and the Blackfoot make great vintage runners and if restored nicely look ace on the shelf. They're nice to work on too due to their simple but effective design.
