Avante buggy second chance

The first run of my Avante awhile back only lasted 5 minutes before the center diff got loose and I never had a chance to bond with it. After careful rebuild to be sure everything was by the book I let him out again at my cousins to tear up the gravel road. I like the stock wheels/tires but I think these Vanquish wheels look better on my car and they also hook up much better on the loose gravel I have to work with. Anyway this car was built to run and after a couple of trouble free runs with the stock motor this car will become a full time play machine like my Supershot and will see regular use as fun buggy, don't worry I don't beat on them but I do put a lot of miles on them ;) anyway I snapped a few static and action pics I hope they entertain and thanks for looking ;)

This thing looks hot, and I'm happy you're using it. Your pix are awesome as always. I do like these new wheels you've put on here though!

Seth, very nice, look at you posting all these off road buggies The scheme looks great and I agree the white lightweight wheels really look good.

Hi Wyoming, you are the first person I heard that had problems with the center diff. I ran an Egress with 3 ball diffs without problems. I opted for center ball diff instead of locked one and one way one due the better handling. Ciao!

Great to see a beautiful Avante; even better to see it in motion!

Thanks guys, I am not sure what the problem was it just got loose and it sounded like a slipped pinion with no power but after i took it apart and put it back together same way and presto works fine for several runs with no problems. I am sure I did something wrong first time but not sure what lol!

Nice Avante! Good to see one getting dirty The centre diff comes lose if you don't tightenit properly. My Vanquish did it once and the screw bored a hole through the gear box housing!

Love the new wheels and tires, looks great.

Yes the Vanquish wheels always make any Avante look the part, plus it's time to go Dual Ball Diff & Torque splitter - makes your ride handle a lot better especially when the centre is locked. Try it sometime...

I currently have that setup in my Vajra, I personally don't like ball diffs in anything but I do plan to put the locked center in it just so there are no ball diffs to give me trouble in this one I used to have a whole box of Tamiya ball diffs I had taken out of various car over the years as soon as I found a gear unit that fit

Great pics again Seth! and a class buggy but i think its still not your cup of tea!!
but its getting there!

That's also a do-able idea. I used that once on my Avante 2001 and it was a fine combo. I had so many problems with the centre ball diff, so unreliable especially when surface gets rough and 21T motors and below...

great looking avante the light weights really match your colour scheme one of the best looking avantes i've seen in ages !
Wyoming
lol yeah I now also have the hole in back of the gearbox from the bolt in the diff it didn't quite drill all the way through thankfully
