'Restored'
I bought this Astute from fellow TC member GTodd (many thanks again!). It already had the Jamie Booth conversions, using Madcap suspension pieces and larger-diameter front wheels.
The original body was tired, with cracks, paint flaking, and folds in the decals but was good enough for a runner. I replaced it anyways with a Kamtec set.
It runs original lightweight wheels with a tri-colour paint scheme similar to my Avante.
Today, it remains the only 1:10 scale car I have not waterproofed for running; its competitive heritage (if not pedigree) has kept this one essentially confined to dry use. This has been respected with a 15T brushed motor and a Super Astute TTC gearbox upgrade. The gearbox upgrade may or may not have brought this car up to Super Astute specifications, given the previous suspension modifications already made. Whatever the case, this car is fast and well-planted!
Sometimes I think about selling it, and in the end I did - but it was quite an experience, however brief.

Nice work on this one,,, I am old enough to remember when the Astute was a brand-new offering in the 1980's,,,the neighbor kid got one for his birthday and I was,,,,,jealous!
