I found this on Ebay. I find it so amusing that it is in one piece and maybe able to run if I fitted electrics. I find it so hard to believe that nearly every part is broken, but still hanging on in there (just)!

My favourite parts are that it seems to be stuck together with 'shuglue' and the Meccano repair brakets (what was the last owner thinking!). How is it possible that the gearbox needs one to hold it together?

This is an original and I intend to make it a runner again. However, particualrly as I bought it so cheap and that it's in so bad condition, I thought I'd make it a runner, but not 'restore' it.

I'm thinking of taking full effect of it's comedy appearance and abuse, or maybe something very different in appearance.

FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST IDEAS !! (or better still, send me a photo of your comedy Wild Willy)

I can then add this to my list of other 'winter' projects.

Best regards

Holy Sh..! This thing must have had a hard life indeed! How do you ever get your tires down like that only with standart 540-Power??? LOL

I've never seen Willy/Blazer tyres so bald!

Thats got some serious mileage on it!! Bald tires all round? Either it's been round the world twice or the previous owner sanded the tires down. Either way, glad you are keeping it as-is, would look good sat next to a restored Willy on the shelf.

Nothing wrong with it, Simon. Only seems you'll have some to do some extra work to get it tidy. Tires will be the real complex thing to find. Maybe the ones of the High-Lift will fit?

You're absolutely right, it has a certain charm as it is. Stripping and repainting the body will only make the chassis look badbut you could do a rat look I suppose !!

That is quality, I've neaver seen anything that well run! I wonder how many miles those tyres have covered?

Personally I'd do as little as possible to make it a runner, anything more and you'll lose its 'individuality'!!

lol...I love it. It's such a glorious basket case that I wouldn't touch a thing (not even the bald tires)! Like you said, do just enough to keep it in running condition and enjoy!

That looks horrible therefore I love it! Just do the bare essentials and run it as is.

I think it looks great like this, there something special about a well used Tamiya classic, I have one which I though was bad until I saw this. This one has real character. Id like to own it for sure

Think you should restore it back to running condition, but only just - leaving the body, tyres, wheels etc as they are .

THANKS for all the comments guys! It seems that you all think the same way as me. Make it a working runner, but with the absolute minimal work.

I hoped others would see the funny the side as I have!

Cheers
