My first lunchy! If you haven’t got one, get one!
I bought this new built chassis off the bay ages ago and have just watched it sitting on a shelf waiting to be finished ever since!
Finally fitted oil filled shocks, added the 3rd shock mod, heavy duty steering and made a front chassis brace. Waterproofed the esc and RX with Tamiya balloons. Went with box art and dyed the yellow wheels black with Ryt Dye. That was a proper PITA as the dye only wanted to turn the wheels a colour similar to a moldy banana!! Took forever, and then Tamiya releases the black kit and black wheels will be readily available, oh well!
I lowered the front to aid in steering but this thing really doesn’t like to turn at speed! Thinking of adding weight to front of chassis to assist with that
The thing is fun to drive , but not enough pep and too stable now with the mods. I’ve just added a sport tuned motor to get some of the craziness back into it that my mods that eliminated, but I'm yet to run it.
Only thing I think I’ll add is alloy wheels ( just like them) and alloy body mounts… then I’ll build one for my daughter who prefers to run this over her Jun Watanabe Hornet!!
We used them both last weekend in the wet and the Hornet handled like a shopping trolley on ice!

Oh yeah... mental note... do the panel lines before applying decals. haha!

Great-looking Lunchbox! How long did the wheels take, approximately? I wanted to try dyeing some standard Avante wheels black but was unsure at first if it could work for yellow plastic. Now I know!

I didn't even notice the tires, thanks for pointing that out! The dyeing took a good hour or so, and I used a lot of it. Be careful not to melt the plastic, but you need it hot. I can tell you that hotshot red will not dye black... ever!

Nicest yellow one I have seen yet. Amazing how much the black wheels improve the looks.
