This is my Christmas Comp Entry. Wishing all the other entrants the best of luck and everyone else here at TamiyaClub a safe and exciting festive season. Thanks again to all my current friends here, the ones I've met and dealt with this year, and those of you I've yet to meet. Happy holidays from New Zealand. :) Regards Neil

this has my vote too. i might not actually use it as my desktop image, but i'd definitely hang it on a wall in my garage near my collection. i love these big guys and the shot transmits a sense of kinetic and visceral excitement of the 'hobby' that we all find so captivating. these things are like pets. they have personality. some people might look at R/C as a speed contest, like racehorse owners must do, but our beloved tamiyas have individual character ... like an english bulldog, or a dalmatian, or a schnauzer. the connection is more personal.

Wow thank you for you thoughts, and i agree with you, so many people getting into rc are infatuated with speed, and it seems to be one of the top two questions asked (along with 'how much?'). But these old rc's have a flair, stance, character and charisma that only vintage rc can replicate. I love the way the blackfoot here looks as it jumps, like its got all four paws out ready to pounce, and the beetle in the distance is edging out the blackfoot as if this jump was the finish line, giving it all or nothing. I am flattered you would consider hanging this in garage beefmuffin! Thank you!

Guys thank you so much for the congrats! Beefmuffin I think the original is only slightly bigger than the one to the left, it is only 2mp? Not sure why an 11mp camera is taking pics at 2mp? I am looking into it. Old school sang, I know what you're saying, because I am so close I think that is why 95% of my pics are here. If you ever get the chance, give it a go!

hey berman - well when you download the image from TC it either stores it as a much lower resolution JPG or it serves it that way in the browser. the file you get is 72dpi and about 180kb. i'm sure the original is at least a couple of megabytes. i wonder if there's a way to post it as a file for download on TC? if not, maybe you could email it to me? it's great for my garage because not only is it an awesome shot of two beauties, it's also a sunny beach - which is in major contrast to the grey winter weather and florescent lighting!
