Well this restoration has cost me more than I thought, and despite a new chassis, front gear box casings, nearly all the suspension arms im still not totally satisfied as I found some damage to the rear gear casing so Ive one on the way. Fairly happy with the way it looks though. As I said in the other post I had a result with the body, got it dirt cheap off Ebay. it was the wrong colour with a few cracks but not too bad so I repaired and sprayed the blue section on the outside and the white is painted underneath as normal. I have based the look of it on the more realistic box art illustration but also have some tidy original wheels and some runner wheels. I have a long hall way so have given it a couple of careful blasts down there. It really flies! Hope you like it

Original lights set Based on box art illustration Very tidy now I used actual mirrors which is really effective Detailed the drivers -Some extra detailing -Longer exhausts and mud flaps, easilly removable -With original wheels -Snow pose- Had to be done! -And another

Absolutely stunning and a very great effort to get it right. I must nitpick based on your BEHR detail on the back, if you are going to do that, you need to put that grey/white horizontal line through the radiator slats on the nose, just like the box art. I can't really nit pick though as this has got to be one of the best looking and realistic replicas of the 959, now can we get some mud flinging shots????

Thanks for your nice comments. Crash Cramer if you look carefully at the front on shots you can see I've added detail to the front Rad. Doesn't show that well on the pics. Thanks again.

Excellent job, you gotta tell us what wheels you used

I got the wheels from here. [Click here]
They fit the hubs etc but were expensive and you have to rub them down and paint. They are not normal plastic but more like fibre glass or resin. You could run the car on them, I have had it running inside on them but they are going to be mainly for display. I don't know what make the tyres are. I took the wheels into a local model shop and held them against loads of different ones until i found some that would fit.

I blame my old eyes, thank you for pointing that out. Still a stunner and a certain winner for the last competition of 'Screen Saver' in my book, that first pic would do it.

I drooled over this car in the Tamiya Catalogues back in the day. Looks great! All the elements that make this model so desirable are captured by your restoration.

Just had my TBG shell commissioned by BigDuke and might I say the detail and skill he puts into his work is mind blowing. I'm almost afraid to touch it lol. Now I need to find some wipers and it's done!

Arrgghhh this is not fair. Should never have looked at your Schorcher. It drove me into your showroom, and now I am just drawn to these awesome cars. The 959 stands out as one of my abosolute favourite cars of all time, even though I have never owned one. Really hoping for a rere.

This one is just plain awesome, down to th last detail. Great build.
