Tamiyas first ever nitro and a must for my Nitro collection

I purchased this TR-15t from Ebay way back in 2007. I used it as a runner for a while and realised that parts were difficult to get so stopped running it. A few more passed through my hands and then I decided I should restore it. Over time I have been gathering parts to get it looking as it should again. The following was done.
The Chassis.
The chassis was completely stripped, degreased and hand cleaned. All the screws were ultrasonically cleaned in meths and then checked. Any non Tamiya rougue screws or damaged ones were replaced. The plastic parts were replaced as required. As many Tamiya and non-Tamiya period Hop-Ups that I could find were then fitted, the list below details some of them.
The Engine.
The engine is an original Toki FS-15 engine, the first that Tamiya put in a nitro model. It has been stripped, cleaned and rebuilt. All new gaskets and screws were used to rebuild it. The cylinder head is an original oversized one.
The Body
The bodyshell is an original Tamiya shell that was brand new and took about 11 months to find. It was painted by Monty. The wheels and tyres are again brand new Tamiya items.
I hope you like it.

Absolute stunner Adam , straight into my fav's with this one . A great line up of hop-ups . I have seen that rear guard on a 'you-tube' tr15t film clip and wondered what it was from , it looks cool . An excellent restoration

I also have some rubber drive shaft boots from Rainbow products of Japan but sadly the rubber has gone brittle.

Took some nerve to drill holes in the cab roof for the fuel indicator, but it is a genuine hop-up with the TR-15t fitment in the instructions
