Well, as many of you know the first vintage project I embarked on after joining TC was the Falcon. I didn't even know about the Falcon until looking through old pics of my dad's hobby shop (pics in my showroom) and it became a mission of mine to collect up all the Tamiya kits that I could see on those shelves. Those are the only pictures I have of the inside of his hobby shop so it was pretty important to me.

As some of you know I did manage to succeed in tracking down EVERY - SINGLE - ONE of the kits in those pics! It wasn't easy. You can see most of the kits in question represented in the pics I posted a few weeks ago of my growing collection. There are more to add now, so I'll have to post an update soon.

Aaaanyway there are several other posts in my showroom showing my progress with the build... but what many of you may not know is that TC member 'mincemeat' aka Stefan is a master body painter and brilliantly offered to help me make a 'perfect' new built Falcon by painting my NOS Falcon body set. Initially it was theoretically part of a trade for some things, but really he's just an awesome guy. If you look in his showroom you'll see how much time and effort he puts into painting these lexan bodies. He also painted a Frog body for me which I have yet to post. Will be doing do soon.

So... here we are. It's truly a work of art. It took me a while to post pics because I was having trouble finding a way to do it justice in terms of framing the pictures. I don't quite think I did here... but spring is coming soon, so I'll have to try some outdoor (not running!) shots when there's some nice fresh grass.

There were a bunch of TC members who helped me with advice and info -- thank you.

Far from a master painter, I'm glad I was able to help out. have to admit it was tough to send the falcon body back. Lol. Bottom line is next time I head up east I better have a place to crash!

it always kind of reminds me of an old snobbish dude wearing two monocles or something... like an old university dean in his dusty study reading cicero in latin.
