Every year I go on ski holiday and every time I bring a Tamiya to run in the snow. The last years I brought my red and yellow Sand Scorcher and it handles great and is waterproof. This year I wanted something different. The red and yellow SS was painted i a hurry and weathered heavely. It has become one of my favorite bodysets and people tend to like the vintage used look. So this was the plan to do a ranger bodyset on a Buggy Champ chassis. I ordered the body as a spare parts for the latest Super Blackfoot along with the windows and other parts. So this was no arm and a leg because I still have 2 NIB bodysets and they do! I scanned the original decals and made some repro decals to fit the bodyset. The bodyset was cut to access the ON-OFF button and some stays where made to hold it in place on the chassis (see pictures or showroom post how its done) The painting was done in a not so carbonman-way. Took it out of the plastic bag, no degreasing and primer was sprayed on, then the Bright Blue TS painted and not even when the paint was completely dry the decals where put on. After that I sprayed the hole body Matt Clear. So this took in total about one hour. I left it to dry for some days and then started to 'age' it by first spraying some light mist-layers of sand and brown colours out of the can (TS paints) Followed by some washed of thinned down black enamel paint and some brown oil paint. Some sratches where made using a soldering iron and I heated the front and rear bumper to simmulate some parking damage. The chrome was aged aswell and details like rust and paint shipping was painted on. I added some lights on the front grill using some metal tamiya brackets and voila! So this took me in total about 2 hours and costed about 40 euro (for the body) in total to finish. I installed it on the chassis with a solid rear axle and some alu wheels. Hope you like this low budget Ranger. I installed the rear bar so it differs from a real Ranger and sprayed on the Ford logo on the bonnet. Hope you like it!
This will be run in the snow in a few weeks

I looks really good for a rush job, nice weathering, great stance. Can I ask where you got the bodyset, I've been looking a while. Your driver's name is a very nice touch.

@skywhelp : the bodyset was ordered in my LHS and it came from the Tamiya importer itself in Belgium. The Super Blackfoot is a current model so you can order the spare parts for it
