You all know I hate painting shells as normally end up rushing and get the dreaded paint bleed. Bought this recently with the guy stating 'Some areas of paint are lifting'. From the pics it looked like a few easy touch ups although was not prepared when I opened the box. Cannot believe the shell is covered in Sellotape holding down the lifting paint lol. Would it be easier to try and remove all the paint or if I did sand down the shell and repaint, would that then still start to lift ?

Any advice welcome

classic !....,i've seen paint coming off but never sellotape holding it on ??..lol
yeah ,more than likely its all been prepared the same,or not prepared by the looks of it !...
nice soak in brake fluid or graffitti remover will soon remove it..then a wash in soapy water and a good 'key' with P1000 wet/dry ,then prime ,flatt again with P1000 .........phew......
.ready for paint..!
secret to a good paint job is i'd say 80% preparation and 20% paint !! ..
just thought you could always put it on a runner chassis and scream it up and down the road for 10 minutes that might remove it !!
see ya........

Just peeled the stickers off and gave it a quick soak in soapy water. Reckon it would all come off if I gave it a blast down the road lol

Try putting more Sellotape on the painted areas then whipping it off quickly

That's a classic case of little or no preparation ,and no primer - should come up a treat now

Wow. Even a light key would have stopped that. Must be car paint or something for it to be that bad.

Just take it down to your local beauty salon, those lovely girls in there will wax it off

You can also use Easy Off oven cleaner. It works very well if you let it soak for a while and it doesn't harm the the shell. Good luck😀

Me and SRB Bloke were trying to decide which colour it was. I thought it was Orange and Steve said Yellow. When it turned up it is more yellow. Could even be Camel Yellow. Defo no preparation on the shell : (

Very telling the 'Joker' sticker on the side of it!
It looks like a fair bit of work just to get it back to shell to then paint it. Any ideas on colour schemes?

Haven't logged in for a while... Excessive work travel. This made me laugh! I reckon he primed the shell with Hawaiin Tropic oil and then gave it a shot of earwax yellow!

That sticker does sum up his painting skills. This is the second shell I have got where the paint has not taken. Strange though as got another shell in Box art and realised the guy has only painted the blue and left the white unpainted without any issues. Going to paint this shell the same colour again.

Appears not to be primered, a big no no when painting stuff. Flexing the shell will probably get most of it to crack and loosen. SCORCHER KID has the right idea with brake fluid or graffiti remover, just keep monitoring it
