RUNNER FOX - FROM SHELF TO FLOOR
as mentioned in my new built model entry, following the trade to unclepunchy of my previous fox runner for his bigwig runner i decided to demote my previous shelf queen fox to runner status and build the new fox for the shelf. but that's GOOD! because that gives me a fox runner that's pretty gorgeous. although i refuse to waste good shiny wheels on her. she can wear some slightly scuffed ones.
i added a few hop-ups to her mainly for durability. she already had the front stabilizer setup. i wanted to avoid the ubiquitous cracker lower rear arms so a while ago i grabbed a set of new hot trick metal ones i saw. i also added the metal shock tower - although it's currently using the standard shocks - may try out some variations soon. and the other metal upgrade were the axle hubs that crack on these. i got a couple sets of the aluminum ones, and will probably use the other set on my falcon runner.
i like to use the wacky motors i get on used tamiyas i buy for runners b/c i don't like how they look for the shelf, but they sometimes are great motors. in this case i had this kyosho lemans motor that someone had soldered some hideous connector onto. i'm using a duratrax ESC in this and even though it has long wires they aren't long enough to get from the chassis opening back to the motor. on my previous runner i opened up the top of the chassis near the back to pass wires from the ESC to the motor. this time since i had to solder new connectors on this motor anyway i just made really long standard bullet connectors for it. WORKED GREAT!

The car is really a beauty. Nice hopups, too. Oh, and Crash Cramer must really be one of the most friendly (and generous) TCers, a top notch guy.

Love it and want those alu hubs for my eventual rebuilt runner. I don't know when I will run it again, but I would like to think that I would run it again in the future. Glad as always to help you out.

Nice work...perfect runner. I agree, I like to use the myriad of old brushed motors I have for runners as well. I have to retap one screw hole on an old Black motor endurance destined for my Wild One. The more Fox's I see the more I regret selling mine, might have to bring one back into the collection.

Another great one to have in your collection. Will make a great runner
