Please forgive all the updates but it helps keep me motivated and keep this project moving along. I am trying to do an update every week. A big thank you to everyone who has commented along the way, it really helps, no matter how short the comment - good or bad :)

I wanted to wait to share the driver until I had him painted, but it was just so cool I couldn't wait to share.

A huge thank you to James aka Beetlelover and Daniel for teaming up with me to make this happen. When I asked TC what kind of driver everyone thought I should do, the majority asked for realism over another ride for Willy.

So here is Albert. Keeping it retro with a nod to the original cowboy but geared up with his trademark helmet and a pair of period racing gloves for some weekend dune bashing.

Comments always welcome and please check my showroom for the update to my Willy Driver (in case you missed it).

Wow! James, that is awesome. Love the detail on the gloves and shirt. Someone with your talent should get LOTS of comments and support. You deserve it.

awesome! so much better than the stupid cowboy hat guy. i'd put one of these guys in a willy jeep body instead of the cartoon willy guy. heck, i'd even consider getting a holiday buggy if the driver guy was like this but, say, with a mesh baseball cap or something.

This is simply beautiful. The gloves just slay me. The detail is astounding. Incredible work by all who contributed. Excellent addition to scale design.

Even the right hand of the big man himself trembles a little when he see's the work of Daniel Cockersell. Superb detail and amazing realism. I have seen the painted versions of the little hyper-detailed heads IRL, and to see one of these torso's painted, just wow... It's amazing what can be done when three great minds come together!

you know, if you want, i've got these tamiya paint markers and i could paint it for you. the paint goes on a little gloppy and sometimes i leave a thumbprint somewhere, but i think i can DO this.
