Falcon: Almost finished.
Here new pictures of my Falcon.
As you can see I went for yellow Wild One wheels.
I lowered the body, 10 mm on rear end, 4 mm on front end.
The decals did cost me an H-Bomb and, as you can see but the red parts on body sides are not decals.
I never liked the big red decals on Falcon so I decided to make the red part with paint, then I cut the other decals and finished the job.
The job is not yet finished. The lamps and the driver are not yet done. Driver suit and helmet will be probably white.
If you liked those pictures, you should see these...

very very nice max! i might have to switch to wild-one wheels for my runner falcon... what a good idea. same rear wheel hub! are these the standard day-glo yellow wild one wheels or did you paint them?

Looks very nice. Lowering the body makes a big difference on this buggy. Great job!

This is how it should have been released, these larger wheels look awesome on this chassis, gret job

Cool! Those rims really make the Falcon look more 'racy' I think.

Looks great.

A Tamiya classic is the Falcon! Nice job fella!

easily one of the best falcons ever ! your mods really help with the stance its the way the falcon should have been made by tamiya in the first place top job !!

Thank you very much. Nice comments, thanks again.

Not a big fan of the Falcon's looks but have to admit just by changing it's stance and wheels really improves this buggy alot.... Great job !!
kontemax
Thank you!

@Beefmuffin: the wheels are painted.

The Falcon actually looks a lot better with the 'optional' Wild One wheels. The std ones made the car look like an S-Class Mercedes with Kei Car wheels! lol
kontemax
I agree with you Sunnyjai.
madmickmalone
awesome
Could you let us know how you did lower the suspension? Did you cut the springs?
kontemax
I simply added a spacer inside the front dampers.
This is a display only model so no problem if the dampers are shorter than original.
SteveB
How did you lower the body on the chassis mounts, and what particular colour paint did you use to get a good match with the Falcon yellow plastic parts?
It looks great, much nicer overall look than the standard setup!
kontemax
I trimmed down the front body column to lower the front end of the body, then I lowered the rear cross bar between the two rear damper mounts.
I also enlarged the front end and shortened the front dampers that are too long, imho.
The yellow used for the wheels is the Tamiya Chrome Yellow for plastic sprayed after the use of a special 'plastic primer' paint.
SteveB
Thanks for the info. I have recently tried painting some white wheels with Tamiya TS-47 €˜Chrome Yellow' acrylic spray paint (over a white primer layer), but the yellow came out too dark, and doesn't match the yellow CVA dampers/rear cage at all. I'll have to try something else.
