Wild Montero (No Willy)

A while back I converted my Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero chassis into a Midnight Pumpkin and then gave it away to a young cousin. I kept the body, however, since I'd painted it to look like a 1991 Montero I owned and loved in the late 90's. I saw a cheap Wild Willy 2 WR-02 chassis on ebay and I grabbed it figuring I'd find a way to mount the Montero body on it.


Well, the chassis arrived. It needs a good cleaning up and setting up the ESC, Rx etc...but I was able to confirm that it wasn't too much trouble to fit the Montero body, so that's what I plan to do and to turn this into a runner with Willy style, but without the Willy driver b/c I don't like that guy.


The last few pics are of my 1:1 Montero, best pics I could dig up since those were the scan-your-pictures days. Loved that truck! It handled great on the beach. It was light but had just enough power to cruise along. It had part-time 4WD, which had to be engaged via an auto-locking hub procedure. It had no airbags, it had a tiltometer in the dashboard like on a plane, and it had a humongous sun roof that opened up about half the roof. It was a blast until the engine just died.
