Hi,
Here is my Falcon that as I said is the final 1 of my original 3 cars that Ive had from new. This was a birthday present in 1987. I know its not everyones favourite but I loved this car, the suspension being much better than the previous cars and this got very well used. I used to run it with a sierra cosworth body on it.
It was a wreck when i started restoring it a couple of years ago. Again luckily as with my other 2 it had a replacement genuine body in about 1988 which i finished slightly different to box art but as its mint and original from the 80s i wont change it. Because of the sierra shell i could not fit the original body on so it has never run. I replaced the whole gear box with a new ball raced one with new drive shafts, lightly used bumper because the original had been cut to fit the sierra shell. it had a new chassis back in the day which was sound. But it took me ages and ages to get new D parts but eventually they came up on the bay. The shocks have been cleaned and new damper oil filled. I will probably not run it as the parts are too rare.
Hope you like it.
( check out the bodge I did as a teenager to the drive shafts. Back in the day it was very difficult to get parts and you kept your cars running anyway you could. At its worst it had plates holding the front together. Araldite and cotton bound drive shafts etc. Those were the days)

Not quite box art but its original 80s finish Side on Tyre lettering Let me out Ive been in here for 26 years! Good chassis 1 -As it ran for most of its days -Check out the bodged drive shaft. New ones fitted -From above

Nice Falcon. The blue works well. The photo of this buggy in the Tamiya catalogue made it look so fast. Nice to see this One restored. Great job!

Wow even more garish with that purple, but looks sweet! 80s classic! Nice tyre lettering too.

Cheers Dirt-540! The original shell that came with the kit was boxart. But it was wrecked after about 6 months! I got the replacement you see here but in the mean time fitted the Sierra shell. This remained painted and decaled in its box until I restored it, so it is in great un run condition. if I had left it unpainted all this time I would have done it box art but am not going to risk ruining the stickers etc by stripping it. I'm lucky i had a mint shell.
