This is my NIB re-release Hornet.

The car is identical with original one except for some new fake sponsors in the re-release decal sheet.

For this reason I've a spare original decal sheet.

In fact this car will be a shelf queen and will never run. I'll also add some 55 mm Ansmann alloy front shocks to make the pair with my restored Grasshopper I. This Hornet will also feature the Grasshopper II front arms that are larger and allow longer front shocks like Ansmann. The bumper will be cut down and mounted like my other Grasshoppers to have a better look for this nice car.
The driver, as all my cars, will have the arms and, if possible, a cockpit with internal roll bars.
EDIT: Yesterday are arrived the only good parts from Watanabe's Hornet, the black rims. So my Hornet will be a total black buggy.

The boxart. The box. The Grasshopper II front arms. Re-re vs original decal sheet. The Grasshopper I cut bumper. Ansmann alloy front shocks.

The Hornet is Legendary!! A class buggy back in the early 80s on track! and a perfect durable fun runner now! A great looking buggy on display too!

One of the greats!

Will look out for the finished result!
Cheers MAD-BEE.

Owh lala! looking forward to seeing this baby tricked up. In fact i'm banging my heard having not realised the option of fitting G'Hopper II arms to my Hornet back in 88'. I'm sure not only I could fit proper dampers the handling and steering response would improve dramatically too! Keep us posted

We did the Grasshopper II modification in 1988 with the Seven Life Grasshopper I. It works, it's a nice cheap modification.
