I bought this kit ages ago wanting to do a model of Marc Duez' rallying M3. Due to lack of skill in the decal making department it has sat on the shelf for a long time.

That was until Poul_F on here turned me on to Fineline-Art on eBay who do brilliant alternative liveries for touring and rally cars. Their stuff is really nice, and they even do matt black window frames and more realistic looking lights. Their decals are so flexible that it takes a steady hand to keep them straight, but they're much easier to apply than Tamiya's own. I bought their FINA Cecotto decals and windows + lights decals and got stuck in.

Since their decals are intended for the DTM car I used the left over numbers from my Sand Rover and the Monte Carlo decal from an Integrale. All the rest are from Fineline Art.

To finish it off I need to fit a rear license plate, two prodrive stickers and some more FINA stickers as well as some more detailing.

It's currently sat on my TB-01 chassis since that had a 'neutral' driver and passenger interior, but plans are afoot to put it on something rwd.

Nerd alert: The door mirrors on the rally M3 does not have vents unlike the DTM car. So I've filled them :-)

What I got from Fineline Art on Ebay Reference: The restored M3 in Monte Carlo spec

If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
Yes: The interior does fit with the chassis cover in place

Lovely! Nice to see something different with one of Tamiya's best poly bodies and one of my personal favourites. Nerd info coming: In BMW circles this is known as the E30, it is possibly the most iconic BMW to date, sorry couldnt help it Steffen. Nice one! Ooh almost forgot, please feel free to join my BMW sig and add some pics of it, its called 'the E number experience'.

Excellent - the rally M3s were the absolute business and I remember the Marc Duez car well. Beautiful build!

I dig it and I need to figure out how to read German. I want to get my hands on only the light decals, but last time I was on their ebay site, didn't see just those. Perhaps I will contact them through here and find an answer to that question.

Just send them a message on eBay, their English is fine and they're very helpful.
