Very Cool Pick Up These! Now Sold.
There is something about the King Cab that just makes me very happy. It might be the colours or the Paris Dakar look, I'm not sure I just know I like it a lot. I know it looks a bit like a spider crab as it sits so high and the wheels stick out, I know the gearboxes are not the strongest, I know in a puff of wind the bodies split and I know the chassis appears to be made of wafers. I had hoped to buy a mint shelfer but they are few and far between and understandably pricey or they come up and are completely knackered old sheds fit for scrap.
This one came from Scotland via Gumtree, it had been on and off for a few weeks, the seller wanted to sell but didn't want to post it, then he would post it but only at the full asking price, plus Paypal, plus packing, plus petrol etc, etc, I'm sure you get the picture. Anyway it's mine now and I've had it for about 6 weeks, I'm sure it will break the piggy bank, but I am really looking forward to pulling it apart and putting it all back together. The shell is a genuine Tamiya with tatty box and sticker sheet and if I can afford it I'll going to get the shell painted by someone that knows what they are doing.

MAD-BEE, there be no sand for this big boy, it will be all show! My Blackfoot is still in the garage after its beach/rock-face and golf course holiday!

First sentence says it all. My goodness they are a beautiful truck, the childhood memories. Probably one of the most demanding bodies IMO, it has to be perfect and boxart, and all the little black details have to be done too.
All the Best!

Thank you berman, I have no doubt you are right about the body, my aim is to go box art and get it done with the back detailing as well.

WOW Great find. I have fond memories building mine out the kit as a teenager. Painting it in Box Art is certainly tricky and would ask TC member 'Monty' if he can do it for you.

Rallyebaz thanks for top tip. Monty are you out there?? It is a lovely one to own, I'm really pleased with it. Thank you.
