This is Fast Attack Willy, a project that started in November 2011. Now, finally, I am able to add the finished car to my showroom 8D.

The idea was to build a Wild Willy M38 themed FAV.
So basically this is a FAV with lots of nods to the WW M38, including; all-round Padlatraks, winch, jerry can, NOS bottle, fuel cell, roll bar foam and spot-lights, fire extinguisher, spare wheel (including a spare wheel), and of course Willy himself at the wheel.

I would like to say a special thank you to the following members;

To Skottoman - For your inspirational Willy FAV Scorcher, and for all your encouragement and input throughout the build, helping me to get the best out of the theme.

To SRB Bloke - For those front padlatraks which are awesome. Also for your baja build. It's not just the car (which is one of the best) but more your dedication and perserverence over almost two years to finish the project. I kept that in mind during this build.

To IBIFTKH - The master of Wild Willy projects which are a constant source of inspiration (have you seen his HEMTT project?). Also for showing me how to back a jerry can ;-)

Thanks also to the following members for their input and encouragement via the forum; mr crispy, madInventor, bromvw, mongoose1983, skywhelp, commiedoor, bjr250, pastimesteve, Toykid, markbt73, Theibault, shenlonco, Grastens, KEV THE REV, biggamehunter, mechplas.

A special thanks also to ModMax for hooking me up with Neal at Freqeskinz, who printed and cut the wheel cover decals for me; thanks Neal.

Next project: Rob Mitchell's Restoration - see you all in about two years time :D

What a terrific creation !!! Every body part looks at home on the body. I love the 'narrowed' front Padlatraks. If only Tamiya would come-up with such interesting creations - instead they re-released the FAV a 2nd time with the very simple grey ‘shark mouth’ version.

That is one seriously funky FAV! Love it with sand paddles. I wonder how you did did the yellow lettering? I've only ever managed white lettering. Lots of nice little touches too, top work! Oh and yes, it can take years to get a project finished, can drive you mad.

I always regret not doing a video before I sold mine, so make sure you get one taken. That location looks like a great place for the vid

'Lovely collection of fine details Singleseven surely makes your FAV unique. I love its raw aggression, however I'd ditch the 'urban wheel cover' for a visible spare wheel instead. Nicely done!

This is so incredibly excellent. The final product is more than the sum of it's parts for sure! Wow! I would love to see our Custom FAVs in a photoshoot... Heh. I really love all the little things you did to button up the build. The black painted motor/wires. The painted screwheads to make them blend. The perfect mixture of original 'Willy M38' touches... Excellent photos in the proper location as well! A masterpiece!!!

Wow, a total winner indeed!

And have to say we all get inspired by one another. That's one of the most exciting things about this club. You are always learning about things, enjoying everybody else's happiness, and sympathizing/helping when some problem arises.

Having said this, I just have to congratulate about your new custom FAV. Looks fun, and it's pure eye candy. I know I'd love to run one of those in such nice location.

Great work my friend, you've created an inspiring, fun and very professional looking build. You've blended the two themes perfectly and the result is stunning. It really wouldn't surprise me if Tamiya started making these...

I want to post a quote you put on my Willy's FAV Scorcher page... IN 2011, you said, 'I've had an idea for a while now for a Fast Attack Willy, but this is way better than anything I could achieve and you'e actually got the job done too!' ...... I think you realize now that what you more than accomplished your goal, and achieved more than you thought you would! Nice job!

great build seven !!! this is the best looking fav custom build i have ever seen in my honest opinion , after seeing custom builds i have never seen one that actualy looks like it was factory produced , theres always a little detail that gives away the custom build , but i can honestly say this is the first build i have ever seen that looks completely factoiry produced !! and you have achived a perfect mash of the two vehicles this is just blowing me away mate ?? shockingly good .................. i want one more than any other tamiya ? TRULY OUTSTANDING

Thank you for all your comments, which really have made me very happy The colour is Olive Drab TS-28. The tyre lettering was applied using a cocktail stick and Tamiya PC-6.
The pictures were taken at Seaton Carew, which is not far from where I live in the North-East. I went there specifically for the sand dunes, although there are alot of stones on the beach so it's not so good for running.
@ Racecrafters yes that's a nice idea I might try that out, thank you .
I have some action pictures to post later this week and will make a video at some point (I tried already but it did not go so well).
