The re-re Boomer
It's amazing how i've observed the affectionately nicknamed Boomer' has garnered such a massive following bewilders me! The number of fellow TC'ers massing not two, three but as many as six NIB's in their collection blows me away! All this while I have never owned let alone ran one so I can't give my point of view until recently when I acquired a nice vintage new built 55' Boomer and after spending time rebuilding, cleaning and admiring it I realised it's a cool piece of kit. I seem to be unable in recollecting how I got this kit, possibly an eBay bid quite sometime ago...

I remember always wanting a Boomerang, but then I forget about it and it never quite 'comes back to me!' Awful pun aside, a nice find - good to see one in the hands of an appreciative collector!

A classic that punched well above its weight on the track in the 80s!
Raced my old Boomer back then at my old club and got decent results! it was a great car to drive too!
Still have a photo of my old boomer with some trophies I won! (Pic in my showroom)
Very nostalgic to me is that photo! Its all I have left from back then!
So to the point.....Nice one Sunny, Great kit to have!!

@ ALL: Thanks guys for the nice comments and judging from your comments it reaffirms my point on how this kit hits the spot for many!

@ MAD-BEE: Cheers and couldn't agree with you more buddy! I hope that your next ride will be a Boomer to go beach bashing! I remember quite a number of racers preferring the Boomer to a HotShot/Supershot/BigWig stating these Boomers were lighter, more agile thus responding well to modifications and easier to maintain since it had a tub chassis instead...

One of those kits I would love to have stored away NIB just to peek at and taunt me now and again. The boomer was my first venture into Tamiya, I raced it for a year or two, so I have fond memories. Enjoy this one mate, they are a fantastic model and this is a fine specimen

@ berman: Cheers mate, I will. Surprisingly it's among the most difficult kits to source and secure. Not many do come up for sale and when they do it get snapped up quickly or if there's an auction, plenty of bidders. As far as I could recall, I had to bid against a few strong bidders but end of auction ended neither cheap or expensive..
