Mamod, Wilesco, MSS and Hornby Live Steam
Thought some of you might be interested in my Live Steam collection of models - all work using either Methylated Spirit or Gas in the case of the Stephenson Rocket to heat water to make steam.
Had and used some of these as a boy but these are all new mint ones in the photos.
Blew up my S Rocket age 11 when the Gas cylinder leaked (a common problem).
The Wilesco is probably the most detailed and the Mamods are built on the same sub-frame typically.
MSS is very nicely made and the Showmans Engine and Rolls Royce both limited editions. Stephensons rocket is the fastest and goes around a track- great fun.
Have a look also at the Pocher F2 in the bottom photo and the associated link to its page - think you will like the amazing engine detail in this one!

I can remember my neighbour having a steam engine, as a kid I was very jealous. Bought a showmans engine for my dad a couple of years ago, great models

Nice to see your collection - the showman's engine is a beaut! The MSS van is very nice too. I'm still planning on putting a steering servo in my roadster...

I still have the SR1a my Uncle bought me as a child, the price on the box is £7.25 - that was a BIG present back then! Having seen these I may post some pics of my Mamod/Wilesco hybrid TE..

top banana! second to rc, my steam engines are another favourite! I had the blue pick-up and white car. Fit a steering servo and receiver to underside of the car, for some steam driven rc fun!!

Thanks Gents - glad you like and they bring back a few memories. I have posted a few better photos and given them a dust!

I had the Fire Engine and the road roller from Mamod along with a stationary engine. Great to see them again.
