Hi Peeps, thank you for all of the great feedback on my F350 body comic wrap idea, as I was asked for a how to guide a bunch of times I have as promised done one.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me :)
1. Get your old body part (I undercoated this as it was so messy and scratched but the rest of the car I did not undercoat).
2. After much experimenting with different glues I was shocked to find the cheapest was actually the best and this is the PVA glue that I used, the Lacquer is Halfords car lacquer (its under 10UK pounds a can and is in the automobilecar paint section)
3. Get your comicmagazine and get cutting (I found that some comics are not suitable as the paper is too thick, I also found the highly laminated comic pages don't work as well as matt finish as they look too reflective when the lacquer is sprayed on them.
4. Once you have cut out the shape simply apply the PVA glue with a brush
5. Remembering this makes the cutout weak and prone to tearing whilst wet, so handle with care.
6. Place the decal directly onto the body and cut if needed, if needed with your fingers slowly work any air bubbles or excess glue out from under the image so you get a nice smooth image (be careful not to pull he paper apart as it will still be quite weak) I tried doing this with a sponge but it removed some of the image and my squeegee ripped the paper too easily so I found fingers were best.
7. Once applied leave to dry. (sometimes I noticed bubbles or wrinkles can appear as the paper dries but I did the same and worked these out with my fingers until the paper had dried)
8. This is how I wrapped the curved areas, just cut with scissors and wrapped to the inside of the body.
9. Once glued inside you can manipulate the outside with your fingers to be smooth
10. This is how the finished item will look
11. Lastly once everything had dried cover with very light coats of the lacquer until you eventually build up a nice shine and the whole model is covered
Good luck let me know if you do one and how it come out, I will start work on my old ClodBuster body in a few weeks :)

Great guide ! But you need to break up the text, my eyes are on fire .
AndyjcClod
Yea you are right! It was all split up but all the formatting vanished when I uploaded it, I have had a fiddle and not been able to change it
TWINSET
check your email for formatting, I'll send you the how-to now.

The text formats itself into a giant block no matter what! Great how-to, and like I said before, what a unique and creative idea!
AndyjcClod
Yep you are right I even tried with formatting in word and it looks perfect in there and perfect in the description box. Oh well you will all have to squint
AndyjcClod
Thanks Twinset for the formatting fix
No more eye strain
