Hello,
This is a project that was made possible thanks to the incredible Martin/Magic2002. He designed in 3D this very cool Jeep chassis that is made to fit the WW2 body and made it available through Shapeways. Drivetrain components come from a Losi Mini Rock Crawler. Some parts have to be home made but they are pretty basic, like the links for example.
I used a WW2 bodyshell with some slight mods, as well as driver from Toykid and a head from Matt Hicks. I didn't have the NOS bottle, so used a WW head as a helmet painted in the original colors as a tribute.
I also managed to make working head and taillights.
Right now, it's not a runner yet because it has no driveshafts. I wasn't able to modify the stock ones to fit (they have to be very very short) but Magic2002 is currently working on some parts that should be available very soon through his Shapeways store.
I really enjoyed working on this cool little Jeep and can't wait to take it for a spin!

@Simon: you really should. It's scale, strong, and fits the body like a glove.

That, to me, is a perfect chassis for that bodyshell. I've seen Martins work and video. He's done a superb job, and you have just taken it to yet another level. Great work, as we expect

Original and refreshing, really top notch work. Love the colour.

That looks AMAZING! Everything you touch is a work of art. I'll be interested in that chassis once the driveshaft issue is resolved.

That looks fantastic! The chassis is awesome and so much nice work on the body and driver. I like the spare crash helmet, I may have to 'borrow' that idea!
Sayroll
Thank you very much! Feel free to borrow any ideas you see here. First, I'm sure I'm not the first to do it, and second, these pictures are here to inspire, motivate and any other kind of positive energy!
