Finally got this long-termer finished, can’t believe how long it’s taken. The amount of time I’ve spent on this is just ridiculous; I think it’ll be the only project of this calibre by me to be honest. As the fabrication for me was a learning curve, it was beset with lots of mistakes, setbacks, things going wrong etc, you know how it goes, 1 step forward 2 steps back… Doh! I’ve almost forgotten the fun side of this hobby (hence my current Falcon fixation) as the commitment and patience required just got out of hand.

Well here it is; my Humvee III project.

A list of all the work I’ve done over the last 18 months: CHASSIS: Double rubber sealed bearings through-out, Lock both differentials, Remove shock stops, Blacken all chassis/transmission/led wiring components, New ESC/High torque servo/55t Axial motor, Sealed both gear boxes, Heat-shrink shock springs, Lowest pinion fitted, Waterproof electrics, Shimmy steering, Re-attach steering rods to bottom of uprights and move to next hole, Chassis bumper plate, Grind down hexes and wheels to narrow tracking by 2mm (overall y 4mm), Fit alternative upper and lower arms and dog bones to narrow tracking by 2mm (overall by 4mm)

BODY: Fire extinguisher, Jerry cans x 4, Spade, Axe, Fastener for tools, Traction tracks/carrier, Funnel/hose-pipe, Rope, Canvas, Window screen netting, Snorkel, Mirrors, Spare wheel, Boot webbing. Smoke dispensers/canisters, Rear bumper, Roof spots-lights, Roof spot roll-cage, Front and rear light guards, TCIS, Drilled and filed moulded lights out, Custom lenses, Housings and LED kit, Original mirror holes filled and painted, Heat-shrink and modify boot aerial, Additional boot aerial, Additional roof antenna, Gypsy rack with strap and hooks, Body/chassis blackouts, Bull-bar, Spare chain on bull-bar, Front body box section, Raise front of body by 2mm, Alternative rear body attachment method/trim posts, Front and rear D shackles, Boot utility box, Winch box section/rollers/wire and hook, Bonnet razor-wire holder/razor-wire, Tow hook/bolt and chain, Exhaust, Mud-flaps, 2 additional rear roof lights, 2 rear hand held spotlights, Window wipers/stencil glass, Chain down razor-wire, Matt blacken everything, Blacken door recesses, Weather everything.

Think thats about everything, oh and put a horn on roof next to the roll-bar on the left side.

Cheers all and comments welcome.

Holy s... this is really excellent. One of the best and most thought through vehicles I have seen in a long time. Excellent work on this one.

Now it just deserves a just as detailed tank and a FAV, and then some pics out in the field, and then straight into readers ride's' of the year in RcCarAction.

There it is, been waiting for this...
You did well for 18 months, I took over 2 years on my scorcher.
Loved all the updates, all the details and the fact you built it all.... superb.
But its so well weathered studio shots don't do it justice... Get it out in the battle zone and take some video
