Peeled the masking tape off my first scorcher shell this morning and was very happy with the results. Took it out for a go down the beach before adding decals and accessories and guess what!? It took off like a rocket on the promenade and flipped on its roof at full speed . My sister was filming it at the time. It's a real video nasty!. Anyway i have sanded the scuffs and scrapes and will touch up. My opinions on this car is... I love it!. My tips are, build it with the larger spur and smaller pinion as this lets the motor rev and is much more lively and fun. 2. Don't be afraid of doing the box art paint job. The way i done it was, wash shell with fairy liquid, 2 coats of halfords primer, wet sand the rough bits with smooth wet and dry. Paint the whole thing french blue. Mask over the bits that are staying blue then paint the whole thing white. Remove mask and oila!. Driver was done with citadel paints. Black on the overalls. Lead belcher on the straps. Mcragge blue on the helmet. Cadian flesh tone on the face, then reikland flesh shade over the face. Gloves are morn fang brown then drybrushed over with ligh brown. I will update the pics when stickered and the drivers in , he came out good too i think?.

I did that with my very first freshly painted Scorcher! Straddled a cone and up and over she went! Nice paint work by the way.

This is great! Scorchers are a lot of fun. What I have done is to have a display shell and a runner shell. Check out my show room. My runner shell I painted orange and Ive a mint mk1 for display. Mk 2 scorcher shells are good value. They are great on the beach.
