Hi Chaps,
Not made an entry for a little while. I have got a lot of new cars to upload on here. But anyway this is my new Frog!!! I had one a while back but wasn't that interested in it and flogged it. I was scrolling about on the bay during the day when I found it listed as a Faulty Tamiya RC car. I looked at it and saw the CRP parts and thought now that looks cool. I love how original and vintage it looks. I was off out on my mountain bike (my other hobby) when the auction was ending. In the car I mentioned it to dad and he said 'ok I'll see what it's at when I get back'. An 1 and a half or so later whilst out in the woods I get a text saying 'won the Tamiya'. :D When it turned up I was well happy! I pulled it out of the box and wow it looked so period and vintage. Right up my street. :) The CRP hop-ups make it even cooler I think too. All for a smashing price too! ;) The 'restoration' if you can call it that didn't take long, I stripped the electrics out carefully, washed the chassis as it had been clearly run on dusty ground. Then cleaned and re-oiled the rear shocks, rebuilt the gearbox with lots of lovely thick grease, then refitted all the electrics and found a better set of original rear tyres. Nothing more than that as the patina makes it soo appealing to me. A bit of yellowing here and there. I had to set it up to a spare Acoms 227m MK2 handset I already had. I charged the original 1200mAh battery (weirdly took 1800mAh) :/ and had it running round the garden. WOW! I love it, not fast by today's standard but its like a time machine. Everything as it was back in the day nothing rere or modern at all. Perfect!!!!!!!! I am truly chuffed with this buggy and ive become a big fan of the frog!!! The hop-ups consist of CRP: Front bumper, rear bumper, chassis underguard, heavy duty front arms and rear diff bearing carriers!!!! Proper little hot rod Frog! aha ;) Thanks for looking, cheers Marcus

WOW, how is it we don't see more Red Frogs?? Now you just need a HotTrick Red Frog Prince chassis conversion or something like that, but keep the bumper and wheels white.

That looks awesome just the way it is. Do not change a thing mechanically other than maybe a personal paint job. The Frog I had as a youngster was uber kewl and gave me many hours of fun - even won a Concours D'Elegance for best presentation and color scheme at one time. Awesome memories!

The Frog is an awsome buggy, just change the springs on the back to get a little sag under its own weight to improve handling. Red suits it a treat, very nice.

Cheers Chaps!!!! Really chuffed with this one. @Racecrafters have you got any photos of your concourse Frog? Would be great to see it. @MAD-BEE cheers mate, I will try my best to get a short video of this one. I think the back garden will be the best location. @Dirt-540 I don't really want to tamper with this one too much as it is exactly how the original owner built it but what springs do you change to on the rear out of interest? Thanks

Marcus, unfortunately with all my travels, pics of my old cars have been stored so far away that finding them again would require a treasure map. However, it was also red with yelo, black and white. I think I had more fun with that car than my Scorcher and Ranger combined! Your car looks ace mate!

Just some out of my box of surplus bits and pieces. Had to put some slightly bigger washers on too as the springs were wider than the ones on the Frog. Helps handling a treat. Just need to sort the front out with something now as the front on these has good potential for a decent set up. I just haven't figured out how yet.
